In this study the contribution of some of the psychological variables learning skills, attitude towards science, attitude towards education, and motivation styles that the elementary school students have, to the chemistry achievement in the science topics prepared according to the new syllabus for elementary school 8th grade.The study was carried out in the elementary schools in Düzce center. In the spring term of the 2006-2007 education year, chemistry achievement test in science topics has been applied. In the first autumn term this test was applied to 250 students and the reliability coefficient was found out to be 0,82. In spring term it was applied to 620 students to identify the chemistry achievement in science topics. Later on, learning skill inquiries, attitude towards reading inquiry and motivation styles inquiry have been applied to the students. The data was analyzed with a package program and multi regression analyze was carried out to determine the coefficient of correlation between dependent and independent variables and effects of the independent variables to dependent variables.In the conclusion part of the study, the attitude toward science, motivation and learning styles have a meaningful contribution statistically to forecast the chemistry achievement in their science topics. However in the multi regression analysis, it was found out the attitude towards school and education has no meaningful relation statistically, to forecast the chemistry achievement in the science topics.Key Words: Learning Styles, Motivation Styles, Attitude and Academic achievement.
