Abstract (EN)

Classroom?s physical organization is a crucial step for the success in classroom management. How much the classroom is organised considering the students? interests and needs, the students will adopt to this learning enviroment easily and the quality of education will increase. For the learning environment to increase student?s interests and success and enjoy spending time there, the physical variants like the temperature, lighting, colour, seat order, number of the students etc. of the classroom need to be organised both supportive and interesting for learning.The main aim of this research is to determine the classroom teachers? views related to classroom?s physical organization in primary schools. The study was conducted as a descriptive survey. The data needed for this research was obtained by a 57-item questionnaire developed for this study and was applied to the classroom teachers. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by the ?SPSS 14.0 for Windows? computer programme. Frequency, Percentage and Chi Square Analysis were used while analyzing the data.The working population consisted of classroom teachers in the city of Mugla in 2009-2010 educational season. The sample of the research consisted of the classroom teachers working in primary schools in the centers for the county of Fethiye and the city of Mugla. Because Fethiye is the most developed and the biggest county of Mugla, this county has also been included to the research.In the end of this research, the following conclusions can be drawn: The classrooms weren?t sufficiently supported with the components which made the physical environment strong. In addition to this, the physical variants that affect the learning environment also affects the students? interests and success according to the classroom teachers and the present situation related to the physical order of the classroom are generally found out to be ?sufficient?. Depending on these results, school principals, inspectors, the teachers and the students were advised to determine the present situation about organising physical order and make necessary improvements for the physical organization.Key Words: Physical order, physical organization, teacher, classroom teacher.
