Primary math teachers? opinions about the project tasks

It is thought that bringing out what kind of applications about the project tasks for Primary Math Teachers contributes to the projects reaching the desired goal, coping with the occurring problems and getting much more profits from the education program. However, applications of teachers about the project tasks given in Math lessons in Primary Schools aren?t put forward and evaluated enough with scientific studies. Thus, with this study it is aimed to determine applications and views of Primary Math teachers about the project tasks.This research is in descriptive form and the scanning models are used in this study. In this research, questionnaire form, as the means of collecting datum, designed by the researcher is applied to 150 Math teachers working in Trabzon. From SPSS 15.0 package program is profited by for the evaluation of datum got from the questionnaire forms.According to the findings of this research, teachers haven?t received any education but most of our teachers think they are capable for project tasks and able to carry out the projects appropriately for their aims.The findings of the research have shown that most of the teachers pay attention that materials used in projects don?t exceed the budgets of the students and the projects are appropriate for realizing the aims emphasized in the program, while evaluating the projects they take into consideration both the process and result and use grade scoring scale. We can enumerate the difficulties teachers come across while the projects are carried out as, the acceptance of the information in the internet, source of which isn?t certain, by the students as certain information, students? not gathering outside the school with the purpose of study and research and problems of the doing the homework from the internet without any effort. It has been seen that, to overcome the confronted problems, teachers give information to students about the aim, feature and preparation of the projects; they try to determine the projects from different sources according to the interests and levels of the students?. The views of teachers about the project tasks haven?t shown a meaningful difference in general according to gender and state of receiving education. In the light of the results of this research, precautions to be taken are determined and some suggestions are given for the researchers.Key Words: Project tasks, Primary Math Teachers, Math Lesson Education Program, Primary Schools.
