Primary School Teachers' Adequacy At The Use Of Technology

This research?s hypothetical basis is consisted of the scanning of various literatures. The aim of the research is to establish ?primary school teachers? adequacy at the use of technology. The work universe of the research is the teachers working in the schools, 1st or 2nd grade, in Gaziosmanpasa, Istanbul. Data is gathered by the surveys which are filled in by the teachers. By the data gathered from he surveys, the level of their use of technology in their fields are wanted to be established. Before making comments on the data, the concepts that are used in this research are explained. Firstly, the definitions about the education and teaching ae mentioned; then technology and education technology are explained. The ideas of the teachers about the needs and obstacles in using the technological equipments are mentioned. The technological eqipments and materials that are used in different phases of education are defined in detail and the benefits of these equipments are also mentioned. The data gathered from the surveys is firstly entered to the computer and statistical analysis was done by Windows SPSS version 13. The personal data of the subjects are analyzed by frequency and percent values. During the analysis of the data, the questions in he ?Primary School Teachers? Adequacy at the Use of Technology Scale? are used and if there is logical difference among the ideas of the teachers are established by single coursed variance analysis. The findings gathered after the tests are debated and some suggestions are made.
