Examination of qualifications of primary school gardens: The case of Adana city

With this study, it was aimed to examine the adequacy of the primary schools in Adana in terms of landscape and to develop suggestions for improving the inadequacies. The study was carried out in four stages: 1) To reveal the criteria to determine the adequacy of the school gardens by making use of the studies made for school gardens, laws and regulations, and to determine the adequacy of the school gardens in the light of the sources. Establishing criteria for a new study by obtaining information from the studies conducted on the competency of the students. level scoring and determining the qualifications 3) A survey study was conducted to determine the most accurate location of the land use in the school garden, the desired uses in the school gardens, and the most Determining opinions and suggestions about the most frequently complained situations 4) Creating design proposals by synthesizing criteria, survey studies and literature studies for 7 schools with different area sizes in line with the survey findings. As a result of the current situation analysis, the school gardens in the city of Adana are insufficient in many ways and opinions and suggestions are stated.
