Speaking and writing problems of the students in the third class of primary schools: Bitlis models

This study focuses on the problems of speaking and writing met with difficulties in the third grade in the primary school. This study aims how to solve these problems. Research has been done among 116 school children and 7 teacher studyin in the third grade in schools in Bitlis, Mutki county villages.As a means of information gathering for this research, observation and voice record confirming of students speaking for problems; examining of documents (two kinds of writing exercises) for writing problems and observation forms for both writing and speaking problemshave been utilised.The information gathered have been assessed by suitable methods, the reulting consequences have been summarided below according to sub-problems.Including the experiment goup,between the shools;1.The most speaking problem has been seen in Kavakbaşı Boarding School.2.The least speaking problem has been seen in Atatürk Primary School.3.The most writing problem has been seen in Kavakbaşı Boarding School.4. The least writing problem has been seen in Atatürk Primary School.5.The most speaking problem is students using of wrong words while speaking and their wrong pronunciation of the words.6.The most writing problem students don?t use the punctuation marks and they don?tuse the big letter at the beginning of the sentence.According to this study it has been seen that the students have met the speaking problems such as the wrong usage of the word, usage of the missing words, the writing problems such as writing with the wrong letter, writing missing letter, syllable and the word.The teachers need to do a lot of exercises such as speaking and dictation in order to decrease these problems. The students, who are in the age of 6, must go to the preschool education. And also the families must be careful about their speechs.Key Words: Native language, language, speaking, writing.
