Examining the DKAB questions in the primary and secondary school scholarship exams and the related asquisitions according to the Revised Bloom Taxonomy

This study aims to analyse Religious Culture and Ethics questions in Scholarship Exam in 2020-2024 and the objectives that these questions are associated with within the framework of the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy (RBT). In this regard, case study design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in our research and the data were obtained through document analysis and presented with a descriptive approach. 58 DKAB questions for the 8th grade were examined and firstly matched with the corresponding objectives in the curriculum, and then a taxonomic analysis of both objectives and DKAB questions was conducted. Expert opinions were used to ensure the objectivity and reliability of the analysis. In the study, 58 DKAB questions were matched with 23 different objectives and it was concluded that the objectives and questions showed a similar distribution within the framework of RBT. According to this result, it was concluded that the gains and questions did not show a balanced distribution according to YBT, and that there was an accumulation in the comprehension steps according to the knowledge dimension and in the comprehension steps according to the cognitive process dimension. Similar results were obtained when examinations carried out in different years were compared. This shows that the 8th grade DKAB questions in Scholarship Exam are inadequate to measure students' higher levels of cognitive processes. As a result of the study, it was suggested that the 8th Grade DKAB questions in Scholarship Exam should be revised to measure high-level cognitive processes and show a balanced distribution.
