Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to examine the opinions of classroom teachers regarding the difficulties encountered during process of teaching mathematics in the second grade. The criterion sample of the research consisted of classroom teachers affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. The study group of this research consisted of 10 participants. In the research; Semi-structured interview technique was used as a data collection tool and the data was recorded as a voice recording. Voice recording data were transcribed and collected in a file. Content analysis was used as data analysis, and themes and sub-themes were made from the answers given by the participants. In the research; regarding the difficulties encountered in teaching mathematics of second grade, it was concluded that the reading comprehension rate was due to the parents. However, it was concluded that they did not have Turkish language proficiency. It has been concluded that teachers should have a good command of the teaching methods and techniques they use and choose them appropriate to the lesson, that they should be able to solve the basic problems they experience during the teaching process, that it is important to associate mathematics with other courses, and that activating parents in education along with technological equipment and trying to transfer them to daily life can give more effective and efficient results.
