Özet (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to examine the skills of primary school 3rd grade students to use resources within the scope of Life Studies course. The research was carried out using the quantitative research method. In the research descriptive survey model was used. The universe of the research consists of 3rd grade students. The study population of the research consists of 3rd grade primary school students in Diyarbakır in the 2021-2022 academic year. 1160 students studying in the 3rd grade of primary schools in the Kayapinar, Sur, Yenisehir and Baglar central districts of Diyarbakır participated in the research, which was carried out using the proportional stratified sampling method. The data were obtained by the face-to-face application of the Personal Information Form prepared by the thesis author and the thesis advisor, and the Scale of Skills for Using Resources for Children (SSURC) developed by the researcher. Through the Personal Information Form and the scale; it was examined whether there was a statistically significant difference or not depending on the students' skills to use resources; gender, number of siblings, father's education level, mother's education level, father's occupation, mother's occupation, whether they participated in any nature trips or not and whether they visited any historical place or not. The Independent Samples t-Test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and Pearson and Spearman Correlation Tests were used for analysis using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Post Hoc Tests, LSD and Dunnet's C, was used to determine between which groups a significant difference occurred as a result of One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). As the results of the findings, students always find their skills to use resources adequate, female students use resources better than male students; there is a significant difference in only one dimension in terms of the number of siblings; there is no significant difference according to the father education level variable. It has been determined that there are significant differences in the variables of mother education level, father's occupation, mother's occupation, participating in a nature trip and visiting a historical place. While it was observed that there was a low and positive relationship between the level of liking the Life Studies course or the frequency of using the money-box and the skills to use the resources; it was determined that there was no relationship between the frequency of shopping and the skills to use the resources. The results of the research were discussed considering the literature, and recommendations based on the research were made.
