Abstract (EN)

In this paper, assessment of the 4th grade students' awareness about human rights and democracy has been aimed. This work was done in 2016 – 2017 education season. The work includes 649 students (315 girlsand 224 boys). human rights and democracy awareness scale" that was created by researcher was used in this study. Before collecting the data, pilot scheme was done with 128 students. Cronbach Alfa coefficient was determined as 0.75 after math of reliability analysis. İt was determined that Data collecting means consisted of 21 questions and 7 factors. The analysis of the data was done with PASW 18 program. In this process, t-Test, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis ve Man Whitney U tests were done fors ub-problems of the work. To this study, it was spotted that the students' awareness varied according to the socio-economic level, gender, the education status of the parents and residence. When you examine demographical features of the participaters, you see awareness of agreement, to be human, justice, rule, living together and equality is in a high level while awareness of right, freedom, responsibility is in a medium level.
