Teachers' views on the education of their children in their classes in primary school

The aim of the research is to determine the opinions of the classroom teachers about the education of their children in their own classes. For the purpose of the research, interviews were conducted with 30 teachers working in Diyarbakır city center and its districts. The research is a qualitative study and a phenomenological design was used in the research. The interview method was chosen in accordance with the purpose of the research, and the semi-structured interview technique was used. In the study, the data were analyzed by content analysis. According to the results of the research, teachers who are parents in their classrooms stated that their children's education in their own classroom helps them to be observed in a versatile way and the school environment becomes safer for them. Some teachers stated that their children's adaptation to school becomes easier and that their children don't have school phobia. Some teachers stated that they experienced jealousy and role conflict regarding the disadvantages of their children's education in their own class. Teachers stated that this situation may affect the individualization, success and socialization of the child. The classroom teachers, whose child is educated in their own classes in primary school, mostly expressed their opinions that their children should not be educated in their own class.
