Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the effect of patriotism value education, structured through an activity-based approach in the 4th grade elementary school mathematics course, on students' acquisition of this value as well as their attitudes towards the course. Both quantitative and qualitative metodu ere employed in the research; pre-test and post-test applications were conducted, and the changes in students' attitude scores were analyzed statistically. As a result of the implementation, a significant increase was observed in students' attitudes towards the mathematics course, with positive developments noted particularly in sub-dimensions such as psychological avoidance and prejudice. Furthermore, it was found that students' awareness of the concept of patriotism increased through themes included in the activities. By means of activities enriched with value-focused content related to daily life, students developed both their mathematical thinking skills and social sensitivity. Accordingly, it was concluded that value-based activities are effective teaching tools that support both academic achievement and affective development.
