The impact of globalization on foreign direct investment in resource rich countries

The concept of globalization manifests itself in every aspect of our lives, especially after 1980. Globalization, which has a great impact on the liberalization of capital movements, has created a great opportunity for countries to meet their financial needs and achieve their targeted economic growth. Governments that want to seize this opportunity have initiated important reform movements, especially tax policies, in order to attract foreign capital to their countries. This study examines the effects of globalization on foreign direct investments between 1990 and 2019 in gulf countries, which are rich in natural resources, by running a causality analysis. According to the results of the analysis, it has been determined that foreign direct investments have a positive effect on globalization.
