With the end of the Cold War, the creation of a new world system has become compulsory and the South Caucasus region, also called Trans-Caucasus, has become very important in many respects for this new order. That is why many of the great powers of the world put at this region their target points to increase their effectiveness in the world. Many research and studies shows which done on the geopolitical and strategic importance of the region prove that the South Caucasus have the potential of shaping the world's today and future. Thus, these days, the Russian Federation, which has been in control of the region since the USSR and the US and the EU, which represent Western values, is also NATO, which is formed in the same line by western powers are in a power struggle in the region. This power struggle, which has different interests and aims within it, is deeply affecting the countries of the region. Moreover, this regional power struggle or regional rivalry creates many obstacles in the formation of the national policies of the regional countries. In this study, the expectations of the great powers mentioned above on the region are considered separately on the basis of each regional country. In addition, the political relations of the great powers with the countries of the region and their political approaches to regional countries are tried to be resolved.
