Abstract (EN)

It is known that pliometric exercises make a positive contribution to the vertical jumping performances of volleyball players. The aim of this research is to look at the effect of pliometric training on the vertical jump of women volleyball players aged 14-17 who are playing volleyball actively. For this purpose, 31 female volleyball players between the ages of 14-17, who were students at the Nene Hatun Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Van and played actively in the Volleyball branch in 2018-2019, were included. Two groups of volleyball players were separated by coin random method. Different weight vests, corresponding to 5% and 10% of the two groups' weight, were dressed and included in the 9-week pliometric training program. The measure of height, weight, body mass index, vertical jump and leg strength measurements were made before and after the training, and the data were recorded as the first test and the last test. In the analysis of the data obtained in the study, the licensed SPSS 22.0 package program was used. Shapiro-Wilk test was used for normal distribution of the data. Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparison between groups. In the comparison between the pre-test and the post-test, the Wilcoxon signed rank test was used. While the vertical bounce pretest of the group who wore a 5% weight vest was 31.6, this ratio increased by 3.1 in the last test and was 34.7 (p <0.05). While the pre-test of the group dressed in a 10% weight vest was 31.7, this rate increased by 2.8 in the post-test and became 34.5. (p <0.05). Based on the data obtained, as a result of our research, the development of the 5% weight vest in the vertical jump test was higher than the 10% weight vest group (p <0.05).
