In this study; The Democratic Party (DP), one of the main actors of multi- party life in Turkey; His political journey, from his coming to power in 1950 to the military coup and Yassıada, was scanned and examined in the British press. The headlines were chosen in line with newspaper reports in the British press. The study was also supported by documents obtained from the national press. The study consists of three main parts. In the first part, the events that took place in 1960 and before were examined. In the second part, information is given about the factors that paved the way for the Military Coup of 27 May 1960, the formation of the National Unity Committee, the events and arrests that took place on the day of the coup. In the third part, the history of Yassıada, where DP members were tried after the coup, the history of the island, the members of the judiciary, the cases filed, the decisions taken and the executions were examined. These events in Turkey's journey to democracy were widely covered in the British press. British newspapers with different ideological views were examined through the press scan. As a result, the political attitudes and events in the press life of the newspapers were evaluated from different perspectives.
