Abstract (EN)
The study was conducted to test the validity and reliability of the "Attitude Towards the Prevention of Incontinence-Associated Dermatitis Instrument (APrIAD)" in Turkish. The study population consisted of 496 nurses working in inpatient services and intensive care units at the foundation university hospital where the study was conducted, and the sample consisted of 252 nurses who had at least 1 year of experience as a nurse and volunteered to participate in the study. The data were obtained using the Nurse Descriptive Characteristics Form, APrIAD and General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES). SPSS 28.0 and Smart-PLS were used for statistical analysis. To evaluate the validity and reliability, path analysis was performed by applying confirmatory factor analysis and the PLS-SEM method. Cronbach's alpha (CA), Composite Reliability (CR), Heterotrait-Monotrait Ratio (HTMT), Average Variance Extracted (AVE), Variance Increase Factor (VIF) values were examined within the scope of validity and reliability in the model. The significance level was accepted as p<0.05. The language validity was carried out according to WHO's "Intercultural Scale Adaptation Stages, Language and Culture Adaptation Guide". It was determined that the CA value of the Turkish form of the scale was 0.63, the CR coefficients of the factors were above 0.70, and the factor loading of each item was above 0.30 (p<0.05). The AVE coefficients of the factors ranged between 0.42 and 0.76, and it was determined that the CR value of all factors was greater than the AVE value. The HTMT value evaluated within the scope of discriminant validity was found to be less than 0.90 for each factor. A low level and non-significant relationship was detected between GSES and APrIAD (p>0.05). In the test-retest method, difference was seen between the first application and the score obtained 4 weeks later (p>0.05). VIF values were below 5. Accordingly, it was determined that the Turkish form of the scale was valid and reliable. As a result, it was found that the "APrIAD" was a valid and reliable scale for the Turkish nurses. Also, it is recommended that the scale be retested with a larger population to reveal its power.
