Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to reveal if there are any differences among white collar personnel in terms of organizational commitment and job satisfaction. This research consists of a theoretical part and case study part. In theoretical part, the concept of job satisfaction and organizational commitment was examined with various dimensions. In the case study part, we made a sketch of ceramic sector in Bilecik and tried to reveal the results of the questionnaire conducted in a ceramic plant with 106 white collar personnel out of 302 white collar employees. We tried to make a comparative evaluation among white collar personnel in terms of job satisfaction, organizational commitment and demographic factors. We made some analyses examining the relations between demographic characteristics, organizational commitment and job satisfaction. Nine of our fourteen hypotheses were confirmed and five of them were rejected. It is found that there are statistically significant relations between status and job satisfaction, sectoral experience and job satisfaction, experience in the same firm and internal job satisfaction. It is also found that there are statistically significant relations between the experience in the firm and organizational commitment, age and organizational commitment, age and normative commitment, age and continuance commitment, status and normative commitment, and sectoral experience and normative commitment. It is also found that there are statistically significant relations among normative commitment, emotional commitment, continuance commitment, internal job satisfaction and external job satisfaction. Lastly, a regression analysis is made between normative commitment and internal job satisfaction. It is found that normative commitment explains job satisfaction with a percentage of % 18,9.
