Abstract (EN)
The aim of the research is to examine the job characteristics and the effect of the organization culture on work procrastination, if any to determine the moderator role of external control focus in this effect. According to the sources of the Strategy and Budget Department, the universe of the research consists of 5.052.409 public institution employees working throughout Turkey as of 2022. The data which obtained from 714 participants as a result of the survey application were examined statistically. The data which obtained after the survey application were first tested in terms of suitability for analysis. Accordingly, the predicted assumptions were tested in order to analyse the main hypotheses of the study. Then, structural validity and reliability analyses of the scales were applied. The descriptive analyses were performed through the SPSS program. The structural equation models which established to test the main hypotheses of the study were analysed through the LISREL program. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that job characteristics, clan culture and adhocracy culture perceptions of the participants had a negative and meaningful effect on work procrastination behaviour, while hierarchy and market culture perceptions had a positive and meaningful effect on work procrastination behaviour. In addition, it has been concluded that external control focus has a moderator role in all of these effects. Finally, T-Test and Anova analyses have resulted in significant differences between the participants perceptions of job characteristics, organization culture and work procrastination behaviour and their various demographic variables.
