Abstract (EN)
Various factors impact the performance of those working in the tourism sector. This study aimed to determine the relationships among the variables of quality of work life, psychological empowerment, job satisfaction and job performance in the tourism sector, and to identify to what extent these variables predict job performance. Quantitative data were collected from 318 personnel working in hotels in Antalya through the scale set created in line with the purpose of the study. Frequency analysis was performed in order to determine the characteristics of the sample group of the study. The relationships between the variables were determined by looking at the correlation coefficients. In order to determine the extent to which job performance is predicted by the other variables, job performance was defined as the dependent variable and multiple regression technique was used. For the other inferential statistics on the variables, t-test and ANOVA were performed. Based on the results of the research, a significant and positive relationship was found between job performance, quality of work life, job satisfaction and psychological empowerment. While the relationship between job performance and psychological empowerment and the one between job satisfaction and quality of work life were strong, those between the other variables were found to be moderate. According to the results of the multiple regression analysis, in which job performance was determined as the dependent variable, it was determined that quality of work life, job satisfaction and psychological empowerment explained job performance at the level of 53.9%. Among the independent variables, psychological empowerment was found to explain job performance the most. In the study, when the sub-dimensions of the variables were included in the multiple regression, it was found that the independent variables explained job performance at the level of 59.4%, and it was observed that the variables explained work performance at the level of 59.3% when the sub-dimensions that did not contribute significantly to the regression were removed from the analysis. In addition, it was found that the psychological empowerment levels of male employees are higher than female employees, that the level of job satisfaction increases as the age of the employee increases, that the level of job performance is at the highest level in the middle age groups, and the quality of work life values are at the highest level in the upper age group. It was determined that the level of psychological empowerment is the lowest in the group of employees under the age of 20 and with less experience. Based on the findings reached through the research, theoretical and practical contributions were made to the literature, and suggestions were made for future research, considering the limitations of the current research.
