Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to teach the acquisitions in the 7th grade science course "Interaction of Light with Matter" unit by using artificial intelligence system. In the study phase, an artificial neural network model was developed to predict the reflection, absorption or refraction properties of light as a result of its interaction with various materials. The developed web-based curriculum is based on multimodal inter action. Usernames and passwords of all students participating in the study were created and they were allowed to take action on their own page. The research was conducted in a small-scale province in the Eastern Anatolia Region, in secondary schools located in the city center and its districts, where permission was obtained. The sample of the research consists of 72 students in the study group and 63 students in the control group out of 135 students studying in the 7th grades of 4 different secondary schools in the 2020/2021 academic year. The pretest posttest control group design was used in the study. "Academic Achievement Test" consisting of 20 questions was applied to measure the academic success of the students. At the end of the study, a semi-structured "Student Interview Form" consisting of 8-item open-ended questions was applied to the students in the study group who participated in the application. In the findings obtained as a result of the research, a significant difference was observed when the pre-test and post-test scores of the students for their academic achievement were compared According to the qualitative data, it was observed that the web-based teaching program developed with artificial neural networks had a positive effect. In the interview with the students in the study group, for the artificial neural network model application; They have stated that it is an informative, fun, useful and different method. It can be said that since the study carried out is the first study on the subject taken into consideration, it will contribute to other studies and the literature.
