Abstract (EN)

The fact that the sole source of labor is human beings makes this concept extremely valuable. Being employed is a necessity for earning a living within economic conditions, not only in Türkiye but throughout the world. From this perspective, understanding the structure of the workforce and the necessary qualifications can establish a relationship between workers and employers based on employment. Conducting analyses of the workforce at the micro level is valuable because it makes the causes of indicators such as employment structure and unemployment more visible. Merzifon district is among the large districts with high production capacity and a significant role in the regional economy; however, because it does not have city status administratively, it has not been sufficiently addressed in academic research and has limited statistical data. This situation points to a lack of micro-level labor force analysis at the district scale in the literature. This thesis aims to fill this gap by examining the labor force dynamics, employment structure, and sectoral labor force trends in Merzifon in detail. In this respect, the research not only sheds light on the economic structure of Merzifon but also provides a meaningful contribution to the literature by offering a methodological example for the economic analysis of "large districts with low data visibility".
