Özet (EN)

In this study, a compact device has been developed and verified to determine the explosion characteristics and calorific value of dust particles simultaneously. In addition to the pressure sensor used in the existing 20 L Siwek, the moment and duration of the explosion could be precisely measured using a light sensor developed in this study. The determination of the detonation speed in the explosion spheres via a light sensor has been a study attempted for the first time in literature. Since the light speed is much faster than the propagation speed of the pressure waves formed at the time of the dust explosion, the detection of the explosion by the light sensor takes place without loss of time. A sensor that can detect the explosion instantly can be very helpful for a better understanding of the events within the explosion sphere. It has been determined that there is a linear proportionality between the Pmax values measured using the 1 L explosion chamber and the Pmax values previously obtained using a 20 L Siwek. The relationship between the two data was formulated using the linear regression method. Thus, it has been seen that the results obtained in the 1 L powder explosion sphere can be used safely in engineering applications together with the linear curve developed in this study. The determination coefficient between Pmax values measured for the same coal in 1 L and 20 L dust explosion spheres was calculated to be R2=0.903. The Pmax values measured with a 1 L explosion sphere and the explosion index coefficient calculated based on these values were approximated to the Pmax values measured using a 20 L Siwek sphere with the help of the linear curve developed in this study. Keywords: Dust explosion, explosion vessel, explosion index, maximum explosion pressure
