In the İskenderun Basin, formed in middle Miocene, the source, reservoir and seal rocks are represented by Köpekli (Menzelet), Karaisalı (Horu) and Cingöz (Kızıldere) formations respectively. Köpekli formation may act as a seal rock too, in some localities. The maturity values increases from East to West. Source and reservoir rocks gradually pass to each other laterally and vertically. Because of this reason, the stratigraphic traps are as important as the structural traps. The oil window is between 3200 and 5250 meters. The earliest time of the peak oil generation is early Pliocene (5 Mabp) and the latest is at present (0 Mabp). The hydrocarbon generation time is thus earlier in the West than in the East. It has been concluded that there is no fixed relationship between hydrocarbon generation and maturity of organic matter. High heating rates resulted in peak oil generation at lower maturity levels (Lower than 0.7 and 0.8 Ro%). Key Words: İskenderun Basin, Quantitative Basin Analysis, Modeling. n
