Abstract (EN)

Although the dimensions of unemployment vary according to countries' development level, economic conditions and structures of their labour market, it has been one of the most significant problems in all countries. In recent years, as unemployment increased and became chronic in our country, active labour market policies aimed at protecting employment gained more importance. Vocational training programs, which are the most significant instruments of active labour market policies, contribute to education and development of both unemployed and employed people. These programs increase their emloyability and help them fight against unemployment by making their return to work easier. In this study, vocational training programs as an instrument of active labour market policies in fighting against unemployment and vocational training programs organized by Bursa Labour and İSKUR Provincial Directorate were analyzed. Contribution of vocational training programs to the employment over the years was interpreted in accordance with the structure and the needs of the labour market in Bursa.
