Matrix organizatiom in companies and a study about the effect of matrix organization structure to the team success

96 SUMMARY Matrix organization and team working are new concepts which has been applied in management systems atrecent years in our country. In this study, it has been purposed to give explanatory informations about the positive or negative results of using team working in the company which has been organized with matrix structure. In the first part of the study which consists of mainly three parts, to comprehend the topic clearly and to give general information about the subject, the description and the structures of the organizations has been explained and by giving detailed informations about the matrix organization structure, the reasons and steps why has been passed to the matrix organization has been expressed. And then, to examine the matrix structure better, it has been touched to the specialities, the advantages and the disadvantages of this structure. In the second part, before discussing the effect of the matrix structure to the team working, team's definition has been given, the reasons of transition to the team working has been explained, the differences between team and group has been examined, sorts of team working has been expressed and high performance teams' specialities has been considered. In the last part or in other words in application part, firstly general informations about the TAI (Tusas Aerospace Industries, Inc. )which has been constructed according to the matrix organization principal has been offered. And after that to see the effects of matrix organization structure to team success, inquiries are performed to the members of the company and by evaluating the inquiries, some comments are offered.
