A research between mobbing treatment and job stress relationship in workplace

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between job stress andmobbing enforcement in the related sector.This thesis consists of three parts. In the first part, definitions of stress, resourcesof stress and stress manegement is given. The second part of the thesis is about mobbingand mobbing enforcement. In the third part, mobbing enforcement and job stressrelationship is discussed.In accordance with the aim of the study, questionnaire method was used for testingthe relationship between mobbing enforcement and job stress. The data to be in this studywere obtained from 138 employees working in four different companies in textile sectorin İstanbul. A questionnaire consisting of 59 items was administered to employees.Results were tested through statistical analysis like Frequency analysis, Mann-Whitney U,Kruskal Wallis and Chi-Square tests in SPSS 13 for Windows program depending on thetypes of the variables. According to research results, it is found that there is a significantrelationship between mobbing enforcement and job stress. It is seen that, mobbingenforcement activities are executed both managers and other employees in similar ratios.And so, job stress is related to the frequency of the mobbing. All employees have a risk tobe effected from mobbing with no sexuality differences. However, it is found that, there isno relationship between physical violence and mobbing related stress.Keywords: Mobbing, psychological harrasment, job stress, verbal abuse, psychologicalviolence, verbal threatment
