Mater's degree thesis summary the importance of İsmail Yardımcı in modern Turkish ceramics art and the artistic effects in his works

From the beginning of 20th century artwork started to change with the effect of the changing conditions especially with the change in society's political and cultural activities. In this period of time, after 1950 art has undergone a fast transformation and took the name – modern art. In this new form, the artists knew no bounds and as a result of this they started to produce new pieces with the help of the ceramic's wide range of usage. Turkish Ceramics Art, too, does not remain unresponsive and enters a period of production. This thesis consists of four main parts which aim to share Prof. İsmail YARDIMCI's importance and works in Modern Turkish Ceramics Art.The first part is about the improvement of Modern Ceramic Art in Europe after the 20th century, the effects of this improvement on Modern Turkish Ceramics Art and the pioneers of Modern Turkish Ceramics Art.The second part is about Prof. İsmail YARDIMCI's life, education and his art. Prof. YARDIMCI's life story and the techniques he used, especially the sagar technique, have been explained in this part. The sagar technique that he has used and every one of his works which has been blended with today's attitude are not only the examples of ceramics art but also they are the examples of conceptual questioning and artistic expression.The third part is about the pioneer artists of different disciplines in 20th century, their life stories, works and contributions to art. Also in this part, the artistic effects in Prof. YARDIMCI's works have been examined by means of color, tissue, spot (stain) and form. In the fourth part, Prof. İsmail YARDIMCI's works that have been produced by using Sagar technique and outcoming artistic effects have been presented.
