ISO 9001:2008 quality management system and a study in metal industry

In the process of the globalization, the problem of manufacturing in line with production plan, environmental protection rules and qualified products within a nationwide process of change and development which is also forced by globalization has gained different dimensions. Quality is defined in accordance with customer satisfaction. The supplier companies in the manufacturing industry must have determined the conditions for customers and fulfill their requirements in order to heighten the customer satisfaction. Otherwise, the customer loss will be happened with reduction of market rate and competitive power. The Quality Management Standards provide to companies both catch their standards and internal dynamics and strengthen their competition state in national and international markets.In this study the role of the realization of customer satisfaction in practice of a firm that has ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System has been explored on the basis of ?customer orientation? which is in the article 5.2 of Quality Management System standard and which is one of the principles of Quality Management System.In the practice part, a poll has been conducted among the foreign and domestic customers of a firm which is active in Metal Industry in Kemalpaşa Organized Industry Zone and which has a ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System. With the help of a poll form, it has been seen that the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System carried out in the exemplary firm in line with the views of the quality managers of the customers in question meet the satisfaction expectations of the customers.
