Abstract (EN)
There are radiation zones concentrated in many parts of the world. The causes of this radiation are natural events or the result of radioactivity activity made by humans. Living things are directly affected by this radiation, and the radiation received in natural environments is a result of environmental radiation. Radiation observed in terrestrial areas depends on radionuclides such as U-238, Th-232 and K-40 that have been found since the existence of the earth. Mass Activity Concentration, on the other hand, is the radiation intensity corresponding to the dose absorbed by the air at one meter above the ground. Although natural radiation is found in rocks, soil, and building stones, radon gas can be found, especially in rocks along fault lines. Radioactivity concentrations may be high in ground or surface waters and soils in these fault zones. Radon gas can be found especially in granitic rocks and lamellar sedimentary rocks. The formation of radon sources in granitic rocks and alluviums derived from these rocks, the high uranium and thorium content of granites, the activity of U-238 natural decay product RADON and Th-232 natural decay product of radon, TORON (Rn-220) in the soil gas in these regions. levels are important. The level of radon gas released from the earth may vary depending on the region, time, altitude and meteorological conditions. During periods when atmospheric pressure is low, RADON media, which spreads towards the atmosphere, causes an increase in radioactivity. RADON, which is about 8 times heavier than air, is abundant in air up to 1 m above the ground. The health of living things in this environment, which is rich in radiation, faces significant risks. Apart from this, living things can also experience serious problems in terms of artificial radiation.
