Özet (EN)

Istanbul Region is located in a geopolitically significant region. Besides, it is the only city that has the feature of being on two continents. Istanbul has a special place at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. For this reason, its nature has the potential for great variety. When we examine the plants in Istanbul, we clearly see that there are even endemic plants belonging to Istanbul apart from being very large in number. For ages, people have studied the geography where they live and fed on nature. This has been found in both the pots and pans they use and bloomed in folk songs they sing In consequence of this reflection, just as the findings of the period can be reached, the effect of nature on human beings can be clearly seen. It is also important that these plants, many of which are in danger of extinction, come to life in a permanent art such as ceramic art. Throughout the ages, Ceramic Art is always in our lives as pots and pans or art objects that we use. The fact that endemic plants in danger of extinction are used in ceramic art to make them permanent is considered as one of the most beautiful forms of expression. The depiction of plants on a permanent form, and their reflection in the art, especially by mentioning their names, serve also as an encyclopaedic knowledge. It is intended to raise awareness by reflecting many endemic plants we do not even realize in daily life on an artistic form and considering these forms as art works It has been underlined that endemic plants should be protected in a way to respect the nature in the geography that we have unwittingly or wittingl destroyed.
