The study of soci̇o-economi̇c properties of employees of the fishery products processing plants in İstanbul and general structure of the processing plants

In this study, the socio-economic structures of the employees working in the fishery processing plants in İstanbul were examined, it is aimed to reveal the data from social and economic perspective, to examine and evaluate the structural and economic properties, to identify the problems of the processing plants and according to results obtained, it is aimed to determine what should be done to make these plants better and more efficient. The participation of 13 active fishery processing plants where hunting and aquaculture products are processing in Istanbul is encouraged. The one of 13 plants is bivalve molluscs (Chamelea gallina, Rapana venosa) processing plant, the six of them are sea, freshwater fishes and cephalopod processing plants, the five of them are sea and freshwater fishes processing plants and one of them is lobster (Homarus gammarus) importing plant. The study is carried out by using two different questionnaire forms including questions about the structure of the plants and employees of the plants. The questionnaire forms consisting of 24 questions and 15 questions that are about structure of the plant are filled out by 175 employees then are evaluated. The 52% of the employees are men. The range of the age groups of the employees, the age range from 31 to 40 has the highest rate as 34,29%. When examining the marital status, it is determined that the 73,14% of employees are married. And it is also determined that the 31% of the plants out of 13 have export permit. It is seen that only 38% of the plants that take part in the survey have subvention.
