In countries where development has not yet been completed, vehicle ownership is increasing day by day, especially when vehicle ownership has not exceeded a certain level and the automotive industry is promoted both at the point of production and sales within the country development model. In these countries where vehicle ownership is assessed as a criterion of development, the increase in vehicle usage and consequently the inability to meet the parking requirement of the drivers in the urban transportation is defined as the "parking problem" due to the circulation difficulty and the adverse effects caused by it. In the city of Fatih that is called historical peninsula, which is considered as the center of Istanbul metropolitan area, extensive researches have been conducted on the whole of the district in order to find out the causes of parking problems and to find solutions for these reasons. The subject consists of inventory, internet and field data and is assessed on a neighborhood basis. In order to determine the problems and suggest the solutions; Land use rates, population density, existing types of car parks and capacities, parking areas in the development plan, etc. data were collected. All obtained data were compiled and zoned. Solution-oriented policies and implementation recommendations will be produced in the regions (neighborhoods) and districts as described above. As a result; in this thesis study titled "Strategies for the solution of the existing parking inventory and parking problems of the historical peninsula and its vicinity", it is aimed to establish the parking inventory of the Historical Peninsula and propose solutions for the parking problem with this data.
