Abstract (EN)
The study area is located at the Şile town of İstanbul city and the vicinity of Değirmenbayırı, Gebze town of Kocaeli city. In this study, 24 genera and 38 species of the Thuringian type ostracodes and 8 genera and 13 species of the Entomozoacean ostracodes of Late Devonian were identified. The Late Devonian Thuringian type ostracodes are known in north Africa, Europe and China, while the Entomozoacean ostracodes are wide spread in Europe and sparce in north Africa, Australia and north America. The Thuringian type ostracodes correspond to 6-7 zones of Blumenstengel (1965), whereas the Entomozoacean ostracodes correspond to Casier 1975 Entomoprimitia sartenaeri Zone (= variostriata Zone sensu Rabien, 1954).
