Exterior analysis of historical wooden structures in Ortaköy i̇stanbul

Historical wooden houses, which are the product of our culture in prior period, are losing its originality as a result of improper interference with each passing day or completely vahished. Such houses should be protected and transferred properly to future generations. And this depends on the determination of the historical wooden houses correctly and the detailed certification work by taking advantage of different scales. Those studies are going to be as a certificate documents during the protection of those houses. In the introduction part of the thesis, the goal of the study and method are explained in details. Second part consists of the detailed explanation of the changes that have happened in Ortaköy and its surrondings within historical process, the monumental structures and qualified structures. Third section includes the study of general characteristics of the tissue architecture, the number of floors, the usage of those wooden houses, production systems, originality and the type of those wooden houses which are located choosen area in Ortaköy. In the fourth part of the study, the inventory studies of the historical wooden house that protects the uniqueness of itself are prepared. The whole front facades of the housing elements are evaluated in the table according to the characteristic features of their own. And in the final section, the conducted dissertation results are examined in details.
