Abstract (EN)
Turkish fire department which is founded in 1714 depending on the Janissaries, constitutes the Fire Department in terms of today. The Employees, with a history of over 300 years Fire Fighting, carry out many tasks as Fire, compressional traffic accidents, collapse, suicide attempt, flooding, emergencies caused by disaster or explosion, drowning in water, drowning of methane and animal rescue. This thesis examines the job satisfaction and burnout levels of the firefighters who have much challenges and risks at work. İn this study the "Minesota Job Satisfaction Scale" which was developed by Weiss, Davis and England (1967) and the "Burnout Scale" which was developed from Maslach and Jackson (1981) were used. The Job satisfaction and Burnout levels of the Firefighters were studied with help of these Scales.The Problems, advantages and disadvantages of the works in fire department were examined by evaluating the datas. The survey technic, which is used in this thesis, was conducted on the Firefighters in Headquarter and Groups of Fire department in Izmir.
