The history of Turkish military music begins with "tukh" teams, which means military band in the Hun State (220 BC-46 AC), and ends with the name of Janissary Band with the Janissary Army in the Ottoman Empire in 1826. Due to Tukism ideology, which was ruled in the country after Constitutional Monarchy II. in 1908, the janissary band was revived the name of Mehterhâne-i Hâkânî at the Military Museum in 1914. The activities of this janissary band were ended again in the first years of the Republic. In 20 th century, janissary style bands were constituded in the army units in 1917, in the years of the Independence War in Bozhöyük , and in 1953 in the Military Museum in the name of Mehteran Unit.
