Abstract (EN)

In this research, It is aimed to examine John Field's nocturnes, which hold a significant place in piano literature, focusing on the technical and musical aspects of his Nocturnes H.37 and H.46. Based on this idea, the piano album published in 1978 by the publishing company "Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne (PWM)" under the name of "Field Dua Nokturn" was used as a primary source. During the examination, It was witnessed that this edition is frequently utilized by pianists in the field. In adddition, It was determined that Nocturnes numbered H.37 and H.46 were frequently played among John Field's piano works, but that they were not sufficiently studied in literature. In the first stage of the research, a literature review was conducted, focusing on Field's life and works, and in the second stage, the musical and technical analyses of nocturnes numbered H.37 and H.46 were discussed. The findings indicate that H.46 and H.37 nocturnes contribute significantly to understanding Field's role in piano performance and literature. As a result of the study, the importance of John Field in terms of piano literature and performance has been revealed and it is thought that the research outputs will contribute to both interpreters and theorists and will prepare the ground for more comprehensive studies.
