Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis study is to prepare the chitosan gel formulation, to add the active ingredient caffeine used as an antiaging agent to the formulation, to develop a new cosmetic preparation with controlled release and to carry out in vitro characterization and release studies of the system. Caffeine is a sunscreen, which is the gold standard in delaying the signs of photoaging, and when applied on the skin, it dilates the blood vessels and reduces small wrinkles and also has antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. The main advantages of caffeine in cosmetic products are that it prevents excessive oil accumulation on the skin, promotes lymphatic drainage and protects the skin from light damage. In this study, a cosmetic chitosan gel formulation containing caffeine was developed. Characterization of the formulation and a 3-month stability study was carried out. When the results are evaluated, chitosan gel is thought to be a successful carrier system for caffeine.
