Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT Intertextuality refers to the reception and writing aesthetics of the post-modern world. The concept denied the idea of originality by arguing that texts and non-textual productions consisted of pieces belonging to previous works and became the architect of new writing styles with the methods developed. According to the intertextual perspective, every work of art is a mosaic of quotations. This contemporary writing aesthetic, which brings disjointed elements of different texts together, has given birth to an understanding of the text that produces polyphonic and plural meanings. The discontinuous and disjointed works that exclude the author take the place of integrative narratives, and receptors are involved in the production of meaning. In the intertextual world, the reinterpretations of literary works in various fields such as theater, cinema and painting show that works can be a source for other disciplines and can be rewritten with different means of expression. In particular, the intertextual relations established between the literary and the theatrical fields introduced the dramatic to new possibilities of expression. The intertextual bond between analyzed play and Kafka's works enriches theatrical aesthetics. The aim is to explore the transformations of works of art at the level of form and discourse through intertextual perspective and to reveal the diversity of meaning produced by rewriting. In this context, the dissertation is divided into two parts; In the first part, the theoretical framework of intertextuality is drawn. This section contains the thoughts and analyzes of the theorists on intertextuality to reveal the functionality of the concept. The rewriting methods, palimpsest, parody, collage-bricolage which are among the intertextual methods that relate the works to each other, are discussed. The reason for choosing only these listed methods is that they clearly reveal the size and quality of the relationship between play texts and literary texts. In the second part of the dissertation, to clarify the intertextual connection between the works, firstly, intertextual phenomena in Kafka's works were determined. Afterwards, the texts of the plays were analyzed under two different titles: the texts using Kafka's works as co-textual and metaphorical. In order to determine the achievements of the texts, the transformation of the Kafkaesque atmosphere was interpreted in the light of intertextual methods by reading the semantic and performative transformations, imaginary transformations and indicators / signs. In this study, it was aimed to reveal the creative potential of intertextuality, and the works were evaluated in this direction. Keywords: Tertextuality, Co-textuality, Kafka, Theater, Rewriting.
