Abstract (EN)
Gender equality, which means that women and men enjoy equal rights, opportunities and approaches in all areas of life; It is expressed as a multidimensional concept that includes equality of opportunity in economic, social, legal and political terms. This concept is an important issue that affects the whole society in terms of its economic consequences, apart from the human dimension that arises in terms of ensuring rights. The existence of gender-based inequalities in various areas of life such as education, employment, health, politics; While it may negatively affect issues such as social peace and solidarity, it may also cause economic growth and development to remain below its capacity. In general, macroeconomic policies that do not discriminate against gender can create different effects on men and women with their sub-targets. In this respect, it is important in terms of developing tools that can distinguish the effects of fiscal policies on gender. The state implements a number of policies in achieving certain goals with macroeconomic policies and makes use of various tools in line with them. Although the policies applied and the tools used are very diverse; In this study, the role of public policies in achieving gender equality of the state and the importance of public expenditure policies in terms of gender equality will be discussed in more detail. In the last part of the study, the place of gender equality in Turkey with various data and the activities and expenditures of selected spending institutions on women will be tried to be explained.
