Department of public hospitals orthopaedics and traumatology a study on total quality management and patient satisfaction

The importance of orthopedics and traumatology services that are as parts of the health services provided in hospitals has been increasing day by day. Physical ailments resulting from either traffic accidents or elderliness raised the importance of services provided in hospitals. The staffs working in health services like doctors, nurses and assistant health personnels are expected to make themselves productive on their duty which leads to increase the quality of the services provided in health services. Total quality management applied in health services is interpreted as suitable for this target and applied. The aim of the study is to investigate the importance of the applications of the quality of management on patient satisfaction. It is supposed that the total quality management applications in health services may increase patient satisfaction. The research is focused on orthopedics and traumatology services of public hospitals. About the research, a multiple choice survey has conducted with a hundreds of hospital inpatients in orthopedics and traumatology services of the Haydarpaşa Trainning Research Hospital located in Uskudar, Istanbul.
