The responsmnjties of the employers in occupational accidents towards the employers in public and private work pieces

Thesis) Cemal ÇALIK GAZİ UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY June 1997 ABSTRACT Industrial accident place, in general, due to either unexpected and faulty behaviour or technical foults seen in the machivery. At the end of the accident even though there may not be a death, or disability, for a definite occurence to be considered as industrial accident, certain conditions need to be fullfiilled. Tn general it is understood that accicents take, place depending on human factors machines and enivronmental conditions. An accident can be grouped according to causes, cestors and results. Accidents depending on the causes can be listed as: accidents due to use of machinery, accidents due to fall of humans, accidents due burning, accidents due motorized vehicles. On the other hand accidents tue to sectors can be grouped as follows, a mining accidents, factory accidents contractions site accidents. Accidents according to results are the burning accidents. An employer is responsible to take all preventive measure in order to eliminate the accidants in industrial sites. This must be contraled by state official m addiation to responsibilities of state, firms and worker unions have also responsibilities to prevont the possible accidents. State, private sector and working unions must do their distios on the health and work safety, and it doesn't matter how much theyare eayer to do their jobs, not supported by the workers the desired results can not be obtained. It research indicated that accidonts take place maiuly in public and private sectors because of the lock of technology machinery and warning signs. Another important factor to prevent possible accident. On the other hand workers claim mat mast of the accidents take place because of the fact that emplayer dosens't take necessary precautions in order to mininize the accidents. However, it is known that emplayer and employers have a definite in terest in taking the neceasseary precautions to minimize the work accidents.
