A comparative study on the motivation of public and private sector employees: A research in Antalya

Concepts of motivation, concepts related to it were studied and generally approved studieson motivation and theories were included. Motivation in public and private sector ismentioned as well.A field research has been carried out regarding the elements of motivation havinginfluence on the staff. Personal characteristics, priority list of motivation, elements ofmotivation that has been realized and the general motivation level in both sectors were takeninto consideration within this concept. In the end of the research, diagnoses were evaluated,similarities or differences were put forward as the result of the analyses that has been carriedout, regarding to these, results interpreted and evaluations has been carried out/done.Diagnoses related to proposals indicates that motivation level in public sector is higher. Onthe other hand, t tests showing the general motivation level reveals not so much differenceswithin sectors.
