The effect of public service cars on traffic

The need and demand, which emerged due to the changes in socio-economic structure of the society in late 80?s as our cities expanded without a plan as result of the migratory movements from rural areas to urban cities during the 1970?s, have resulted in significant developments in service cars as a commercial sector. Parents prefer qualified schools no mother how far they are. As a minor consequence of this, service cars have come to be used between the district they live in and the school which is too far from their neighbourhood to go on foot. In addition, the fact that various institutions and organizations have developed alternatives to the public transport system which has become far from meeting the needs of expanding cities has increased the demand for service cars. Nevertheless, since most of the schools and institutions are located in city centres and departure and arrival hours are arranged in accordance with working hours, all those service cars have to be on the road within peak hours, which, in return, contributes to traffic jams. This study aims to analyse the changes which may occur in traffic at peak hours if the existing service cars are withdrawn from traffic during those hours.
