Discourses/practices of international intervention as a capitalist expansion and regulation instrument and international law

International intervention practices are part of the hegemonic strategies that enable the expansion of the capitalist accumulation regime. In other words, international interventions ensure the spatial expansion of capitalism and the globalization of capital. In countries where international intervention takes place, some regulation strategies are implemented that enable the expansion of capitalism after the intervention. These strategies include legal changes to facilitate integration into global trade, strengthening ties with international organizations, increasing privatization practices, signing of economic, trade and investment agreements, and the conclude a military cooperation agreements to maintain the status quo. In addition, as a result of international interventions, geopolitical control of strategic regions is ensured and state formations are adapted to the capitalist accumulation regime. The strategies used to give legitimacy to international interventions have been discourses. On the one hand, these discourses are built on ethical and moral values such as humanitarian intervention, the responsibility to protect, the spread of democracy and the stopping of human rights violations, and on the other hand, they are built on the dynamics of cultural differences such as the failed state, the rogue state or the terrorism-related state. The main goal of these discourses is to legitimize international interventions in an ethical and moral context and to ensure that the international community consents to the interventions to be made. The production of discourses and the imprisonment of the international community in this discursive order is explained by the cultural and ideological superiority of hegemony. Therefore, the main justifications for international interventions are neither ethical nor moral concerns. Approaching to the issue through ethical and moral concerns leads to an inability to explain the deployment of American military forces in Iraq for many years after the intervention in Iraq in 2003 and the unreality of Iraq has not weapons of mass destruction. As a result, the international interventions carried out by the American hegemony after the Second World War are essentially a means that enables the expansion of the capitalist accumulation regime and the spatial regulation of hegemony.
