Abstract (EN)
Cu mineralization has been evaluated geologically and geochemically, observed in and around the village of Karacaören in the town of Sandıklı, Afyonkarahisar. Volcanic origin rocks are generally cropping out in and around the study area. These rocks are formed by granit porphyry and lamprofir dykes cutting this granit porphyry. Cu mineralization observed in the study area has developed as hydrothermal alteration from North to South. These alterations consist of propylitic, phyllic, argillic, potasic, zones from outside to inside. Basic mineralitions have been emerged along to boundary of the phyllic to potasic zone. In general, ore minerals are composed of pyrite, chalcopyrite, chalcolite, bornite, covelin, to a lesser extent, molybdenite, magnetite and hematite. As a result of drilling studies and analysis of sampling done after, 40-7424 ppm Cu, 30-500 ppb Au, 34-575 ppm Mo, 15-155 ppm As values were determined. In the study area, north, south and central alteration zone has been identified and a low grade enrichment has been determined. Considering to presence of alterations is evaluated in terms of low Cu tenor and mineral paragenesis, it is concluded that Cu mineralization in the region occurs as porphyry type bedding.
