Abstract (EN)

Due to liver is an important organ of reticuloendothelial system, it acts immune response against many microorganisms including parasites. Many of parasite agents occur diseases by affecting the liver. It is necessary to be known of infection location and live cycles of parasites for taking sample correctly and diagnose of infection. The serologic tests are used to diagnose of parasites settled to internal organs. The antibody against the parasite or parasite antigens are investigated by this methods. IHA, IFA and ELISA are the most commonly used serological tests for detect parasite diseases and sensitivity and specificity of these tests are above the 90%. In this study, in patients who were pre-diagnosed parasitic mass in liver with radiological examinations, was aimed to detect of antibodies against the parasite with serological methods (ELISA, IHA, IFA). Serums of 100 patients were included in the study. Non-intestinal amoebiasis with IHA method, cyst hydatid with IFA method and fascioliasis with ELISA were determined in the serum of patients. The parasitic diseases were found in 27(27%) of 100 patients. Amoebiasis in one of the patients, cyst hydatid in thirteen and fascioliasis in thirteen were determined as seropositive. We reached the conclusion that we can not only diagnose parasitic infection by radiological tests, but also we should confirme by a serological method for differential diagnosis of masses settled liver.
