Abstract (EN)

It is referred to by different names such as Duklja, Zeta, Monte Nigro, Crna Gora, Black Mountain from the various periods of history that Montenegro, with the benefit of negative condition of geography and social structure, is one of the few countries can maintain its presence.Montenegro was autonomous or independent in Byzantine period and under the control of Ottoman Empire, Montenegro was bound to İşkodra Sancak and its land was divided into ?has, ?zeamet? and ?tımar? regionsBecause of regional reasons such as taxes and cruelty of local authorities and political reasons parallel to Ottoman Empire?s weakening period and nationalism movements, Montenegro led by Vladikas, fought with Ottoman Empire and made it spend its sources for this region.The struggle of Montenegro with the Ottoman Empire from the first quarter of the XIX. century to the gained independence in 1878 and process of the become a state will be reviewed by using first-hand source.Key Words: Ottoman, Montenegro, Duklja, Zeta, Crna, Gora, Black Mountain, Vladika.
