Women enteprenenurship in the Black Sea region: The case of Giresun province

Women made important contributions socially and economi cally in world history. However, women'slabordoes not have a material responsefor a long period World wide; with the Industrial Revolution I and the on going industrial developments, globalization and th eincreasing number of enterprises, it is seen tha twomen participate more in business life. Although femaleemployees whosee ducationlevel is increasing and gaining a war enessexist in different sectors, unfortunately it is also a fact that they have difficulties in having the same wagesan drights as maleemployees. Women play an active role not only as an employee but also as an employer in the busines sworld. The number of women entrepreneurs in the world as well as in Turkey is increasing. The purpose of this study is toanalyze the situation of women entrepreneurs in the example of Giresun provinceb yexamining women'sentrepren eurship in the Black Sea Region. The universe of the study consists of femalep harmacists (39) and femalelaw yers (144) registered in the Giresun Bar Association. Thesample of the study was determined as 87 women pharmacists and lawyers duet olimitations. The data obtained from the stud yare in a way tha tcoincides with the results of thes tudies in the literature and the participants were found to have similar problems. Women entrepreneurs; While starting the irventures, there are problems in finding capital, getting support, and establishing family balance during the irattempts.
